Berger’s disease, also known as IgA nephropathy, is an autoimmune disease that damages a person’s kidneys. It affects between 2 and 10 out of every 100,000 people each year and although it often occurs in young adults, it may appear during childhood.

In October 2020, the Association des pédiatres du Québec (APQ) sounded the alarm about the current and future impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of children and adolescents. At CHU Sainte-Justine, the number of cases has doubled over the past year.
